Terry first developed an interest in programming when his godparents gave him a bulky mechanical plastic computer at age 12. That was 1967. Today, Terry is recognized as one of the leading experts in USB technology. He founded MCCI in 1995 and has served as chair of the USB-IF DWG CDC committee since 2001. Terry led the development of the WMC specification and was architect and lead developer for Microsoft’s use of MCCI’s USB host stack in Windows 10 IoT Core, for use with Raspberry Pi 2.

Terry is a tireless force behind the development of community-owned wireless IoT networks based on LoRaWAN® technology. He put up the first Things Network gateway in NYC in 2016, and was subsequently named Initiator of The Things Network New York and The Things Network Ithaca. Terry is the lead developer for MCCI’s open-source LoRaWAN software and the architect for MCCI’s open-source IoT hardware. He holds 18 hardware and software patents, along with a BA in Philosophy from the University of California, Irvine.

Judy Cone

Judy has been in charge of operations at MCCI since day one. From supervising staff to soldering components, receiving product to repairing fences, there’s nothing Judy doesn’t do to keep things running smoothly. A career highlight for her was designing the MCCI offices in Ithaca. Judy was general contractor of the project and created a modern, green facility inside a 150-year-old farmhouse.

Of course, she had the support of a few animal friends by her side. Judy is a Wildlife Rehabilitator, so you never know what kinds of critters you’ll find in the office. She’s rehabilitated birds, kittens and even a baby raccoon!
