Paul E. Berg

VP Architecture

Paul heads the MCCI Architecture Group, which focuses on Architecture and Industry Standards. MCCI's industry standards activities include Universal Serial Bus (USB), ultra-wideband (UWB) through the WiMedia Alliance, the Mobile Imaging and Printing Consortium (MIPC), the Bluetooth SIG, and the PCMCIA Trade Association (developers of ExpressCard). In 2006 Paul served as the technical editor for the MIPC version 2 Guidelines, and in September 2006 Paul joined the PCMCIA Board of Directors.

USB technology has been Paul's primary focus since 1995 when he was one of the authors of the USB 1.0 specification. Today he chairs the USB Implementers Forum, Inc. Device Working Group (USB-IF DWG) and is an active member of several USB development groups including the USB On-The-Go Work Group and High Speed Inter-Chip USB. Paul also developed and teaches the USB 2.0 Developers' Workshop -- a three day seminar designed to give engineers the background they need to be successful when working with USB.
