Engineering Solutions for USB Compatibility

Based on MCCI's experience in developing USB technology for Windows and Macintosh PCs, MCCI's USB Testing Services provide USB device and host manufacturers with a premium quality test and engineering validation environment for USB peripherals. MCCI is a leading developer of USB drivers and firmware, and was a principal editor of the USB-IF test procedure for USB devices. This allows MCCI a unique combination of expert testing and expert problem resolution.

MCCI's dedicated USB test lab features the following capabilities and facilities:

• A full USB-IF electrical test suite
• USB-specific test equipment, including CATC Chief analyzers, high performance oscilloscopes and measurement equipment
• Extensive telecommunications test facilities, including a DOCSIS cable modem CMTS, an ADSL DSLAM head-end, ISDN simulators, IP service equipment, and analog modem test facilities
• A library of representative applications for testing USB telecommunications applications
• A wide selection of USB host systems, chosen to match the systems known to be most likely to cause problems in the consumer environment. As a certified USB-IF test lab, MCCI is able to certify that customers' products pass the USB-IF compliance tests, and place compliant customers' products on the Integrators List.

MCCI can also provide engineering assistance. Because of our experience in developing USB technology and applications, we give accurate and effective advice when problems arise. Our test engineers draw upon our in-house technology experts, when necessary, to solve the most difficult problems in a timely fashion.

Test Prerequisites:

• MCCI recommends sending two devices, if possible, and the tools and procedures necessary to change or upgrade any firmware that might need revision if problems are found.
• Sending an engineer is an option but not recommended. An extra charge is added for witnessing testing.

Test results:

Test results include reports/logs on tests run, generated in the format required for such tests as defined by USB-IF.
